Basic Prep—Yerba
Cold Brew (Recommended)

Smooth, crisp, naturally energizing. Your partner in hydration.

Ratio (use for any batch)

  • 1 part King Reys Yerba Mate blend

  • 1 part sweetener (we like ½ cane sugar + ½ monk fruit)

  • 20–24 parts cold water (20 = bolder, 24 = lighter)

96 oz Large Batch

Makes ~8 servings (12 oz each)

  • ½ cup King Reys Yerba Mate blend

  • ¼ cup cane sugar

  • ¼ cup monk fruit sweetener

  • Cold water/ice to 96 oz total

48 oz Half Batch

Makes ~4 servings (12 oz each)

  • ¼ cup King Reys Yerba Mate blend

  • 2 Tbsp cane sugar

  • 2 Tbsp monk fruit sweetener

  • Cold water/ice to 48 oz total

Steps (Large Batch)

1. Combine & cover: Add ½ cup yerba blend to a container with a tight fitting lid. Pour in just enough cold water to fully cover the blend. Add lid.

2. Shake: Give it a good shake.

3. Cold steep: Refrigerate 1–24 hours (overnight is perfect).
Optional: Sun-brew 1–2 hours instead.

4. Strain: Pour through a fine‑mesh strainer into a clean container.

5. Rinse to finish: With the leaves still in the strainer, rinse with more cold water directly into your container until the runoff is nearly clear, this helps pull out the last of the flavor and nutrients.

For a clearer brew with minimal particles, finish with a fine 400-mesh strainer.

6. Sweeten: Stir in ¼ cup cane sugar + ¼ cup monk fruit until dissolved.

7. Top up: Add cold water (or ice) to 96 oz total.

8. Chill & enjoy: Serve cold over ice. Drink and chill.

Tips

  • Stronger brew: Use the 20‑parts water ratio or steep longer.

  • Smoother brew: Use the 24‑parts water ratio or steep shorter.

  • Flavor boosts: Add lemon/orange slices, fresh mint, or a few ginger coins.

  • Storage: Keep refrigerated; best within 7 days.

  • Serving size: 12 oz.
