King Reys started a long time ago when Noel moved to South America and fell in love with Yerba Mate. While he lived there, and for years after returning home to Washington State, he enjoyed and experimented with it, creating recipes and sharing them with friends and family. Many folks along the way suggested that he sell it to the masses.

In the background, a friendship and business relationship had been brewing. Christie, who had success growing businesses in Florida, Oregon, and Washington, came along, and a partnership was formed. The two found common interests in business and in people and began to conceive a plan to offer yerba mate and other herbal teas of exceptional quality.
